The participants of the sitting discussed the following Bills: "On Amendments to certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine concerning Responsibility for Corruptive Violations" (Reg. No.0875), "On Prevention of and Struggle with Corruption" (Reg. No.0876) and "On Responsibility of Legal Entities for Corruptive Violations" (Reg. No.0877). The said Bills were adopted as a basis by The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
I.Kalietnik, Committee Chairman, informed the participants that a working group in charge of further elaboration of the above-mentioned Bills jointly with the experts of international anti-corruption projects and programs was set up in March 2008.
I.Kalietnik stressed that the Bills aimed at enhancement of Ukrainian legislation in the field of prevention and struggle with corruption, its harmonization with international norms and legal standards that regulate all aspects of prevention and fighting corruption both in public, and private sectors.
The participants of the sitting focused on the remarks introduced by the Central Judicial Office of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Secretariate.
Thus, the attendants of the meeting believe that "by the subject of regulation, general structure, scope and priority of anti-corruption actions, the Bill "On Principles of preventing and fighting Corruption" is more modern than the Law "On fighting Corruption", which should lose its force in accordance with this Bill".
The participants of the sitting also expressed a number of other motions and remarks concerning the Bills. They resolved to submit the said Bills for the parliamentary scrutiny.
